Hello everyone, this is April’s fiancé Shawn. That’s right, I’m taking over the blog once again. The last time I was a guest food blogger was a little more than two years ago, you can read about the Quiche Lorraine recipe that I wrote about by clicking here.
As some of you may recall from April’s recent Blog Birthday post in February, when Food n’ Focus was first born in in 2012, I famously predicted that the food blog idea was a flash in the pan (no pun intended) and that it would last for 2 weeks. Well as you can imagine, I’m often reminded that not only has Food n’ Focus lasted more than two weeks, but it is now into its fourth year and growing more each day.
The reason that I’m writing today’s blog post is that as Food n’ Focus gets busier, I have taken a larger role behind the scenes – mainly to hold the light reflector as April is taking pictures, followed by eating whatever delicious meal that she has made to share with all of you on the blog. In any event, since I’m more involved in the blog now, I figured I should have a say in some of the projects that take place – which brings us to the point of today’s post…
Barbeque, I love barbeque. It doesn’t matter if you want to spell it out or use three capital letters, as long as it involves slowly smoked meat and rich BBQ sauce, I’m all about it. I have been to some of the best BBQ cities in the county, Dallas, Raleigh, Memphis, and St. Louis, but my all-time favorite is Kansas City, MO.
Since April has never been to Kansas City to experience the BBQ, Food n’ Focus is packing up and heading on a BBQ tour. We’ll be heading down to KC in mid-May, which gives all of you a chance to tell us what your favorite BBQ joint is in Kansas City – maybe there are a few places that aren’t on the radar that we can add to our list of stops.
While we are there we’ll be sampling different BBQ locations around the city and taking notes to bring back and share with you. Of course we’ll be taking pictures of everything before we eat it, so you can bet that after you read about the trip and see the pictures, you’ll want to plan your own BBQ tour and try everything out for yourself.
Let us know where we should make sure to visit while on our BBQ tour of KC, we’d love to hear about your favorite places – actually, why don’t you share any thoughts with us about BBQ as long as we are in the barbeque mood!
We are looking forward to hearing what you have to say, and remember to stay tuned to hear more about the trip, and of course to see the pictures of KC BBQ when we return.
P.S. Like the photo from above? For once I can’t take credit for it! I’m borrowing today’s photo from GP Preisler.
