Well happy Friday to you! I cannot believe how quickly this week has flown by. It probably helped that I had a quick trip to Philadelphia for work. Unfortunately I did not partake in any cheesesteaks. Maybe on the next trip.
With that aside, let’s talk about today’s recipe. I am all about entertaining. I’m also all about appetizers that can be quickly put together for parties. While at BlogHer earlier this year I got a lot of really fun ‘swag’ including a cute little cast iron skillet. My first thought was a delicious spinach and artichoke dip that could be baked right in the serving dish. I then decided to step outside of the box a little and thought of this tasty Baked Mozzarella Appetizer made with 1/2 of a fresh mozzarella ball and marinara sauce. It’s that simple. And delicious, might I add.
So with that, I have a tasty giveaway today featuring the pasta sauces from Oilerie. You may recall earlier this year when I did a photo project for them. They have so kindly offered up a collection of 5 of their pasta sauces to one lucky reader! Good luck!
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- ½ fresh mozzarella ball
- Fresh basil
- Toast points
- In an oven-safe dish, place ½ of the mozzarella ball, flat side down. Gently pour the pasta sauce around the cheese.
- Bake the dish at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbly. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil. Serve with toast points.
