Hey friends! I am SUPER excited that I can finally share some big news with all of you! This has been something in the works since earlier this year and I’m super excited to announce that…
I’m moving to France for one year!
Yes, you read that correctly. My husband and I began this year asking ourselves what we really wanted to do with our lives and it has been a dream and conversation for quite some time to live abroad for a length of time. With our love of travel and culture, being able to experience some time in another world seemed like something that would bring us joy and amazing memories. After watching endless episodes of House Hunters International and a few things that just seemed to fall into place at the right time, we decided now was the time to make the big leap!
As of September 1st we are each packing 1 carry-on suitcase and a backpack and setting off to the south of France to start our adventure. We have plans for extended stays in regions around France as well as visits to other countries around Europe. As of right now, the first 3 months will be spent in the small town of Villefrance-sur-Mer on the French Riviera, followed by a couple of weeks of Christmas markets and then 7 weeks in Italy. From there….the sky is the limit! I’m open to any suggestions!
It has been so hard to keep this news to myself but we were waiting on the approval of our visas before making a big announcement. A lot of preparation has been going on in the background, which is why it has been a little quiet around the blog lately. I’m hoping that the change in scenery and new adventure will translate to some exciting content for you all to read here on Food n’ Focus! If you love photos of the world, delicious food and amazing new culture, you should stick with me because I’m hoping to share an abundance of that in the coming months!
So there it is! I can’t wait to start sharing more about this new adventure as I begin to pack and ready myself for the big move in just a few short weeks! Many of you that have been following me for a while know that this blog started after a vacation in Paris nearly 7 years ago. I never would have guessed that I would be taking this blog to such a beautiful country years later and sharing more with you from my travels!
In France you toast with the phrase ‘À votre santé’ which means ‘to your health.’ So today I’m raising a glass of rosé to all of you as I embark on this new adventure!
See you in Europe, soon! Perhaps we can match our schedules so that I can show you around in some places?
Absolutely!!!
French Rose’ is light, crisp and wonderful!
Black Truffles yum!
